Fraunhofer in Brazil

Fraunhofer in Brazil

Brazil has a vast research landscape and a long tradition in conducting scientific research, which has lead to the development of innovative technologies to the profit of the country’s economy. This has also significantly contributed to the development of a stable and ever increasing economy over the past 15 years. Nowadays, the country ranks among the most important industries worldwide.

In order to further promote and support this positive trend, the German government has enhanced its activities in Brazil, particularly in the field of scientific research. This also includes the involvement of German research institutes such as the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, which has identified many approaches to start new projects in collaboration with local organizations and enterprises.

In the course of its research activities, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft has collaborated with Brazilian research organizations and authorities. These co-operations contribute a significant part to the success of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft on the Brazilian market. Together we develop innovative and future-oriented methods and systems for socio-economic profit. Our research capability, coupled with the expertise of our Brazilian partners, enables us to widen our fields of competence.

Due to Brazil´s increasing demand for new and innovative technologies, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft sees great potential in introducing its technological innovations and research activities to the Brazilian market. In the meanwhile Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft has established a Liaison-Office, Project Centers, several Institutes have own activities and we do have cooperations with brazilian entities.

Fraunhofer Liaison Office Brazil

To assist in the connection between the institutes and the Brazilian partners, it was created in 2012 the Fraunhofer Liaison Office Brazil, headquartered on the premises of the Brazil-Germany Chamber. The Office in São Paulo is an interface with research institutions, universities and enterprises of the country and also connects the German Fraunhofer institutes and their network of industrial partners with the Brazilian market.
