Cooperation Agreement with EMBRAPII
The Fraunhofer Society, the largest applied research institution in Europe, made official on Thursday 20 August, the partnership with EMBRAPII (Brazilian Association for Industrial Research and Innovation) which supports technological research institutions in the execution of projects for innovation in cooperation with industrial companies.
At the ceremony which took place in Brasilia, the partnership between Brazil and Germany was made official, to stimulate cooperation and innovation, bio-economy, marine research and rare earths. The Deputy Minister of Education and Research in Germany, Georg Schütte, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Aldo Rebelo, attended the meeting.
At the time, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Fraunhofer and EMBRAPII. The objectives of the MOU are: promote the development of specific skills in Science, Technology and Innovation; provide a basis for joint projects on issues of applicability in the Brazilian industry; and encourage dialogue between industry associations of both countries.
The Brazilian Association for Research and Industrial Innovation - EMBRAPII operates through cooperation with scientific and technological research institutions, public or private, focusing on the business demands and target the risk-sharing in the pre-competitive stage of innovation. Its mission is to contribute to the development of innovation in the Brazilian industry by strengthening its collaboration with research institutes and universities.
